It Sets, It Rises

Liam looked out at the most striking sunset he had ever laid his eyes on. He wondered why he had never bothered to look at one before. That day he decided that he would watch a sunset everyday for the rest of his life. It was at that moment he realized he had been so caught up in his work that he forgot to actually live his life. Ever night from that day forward his wife would make a sweet cup of hot chocolate and they would watch the sunset, tougher. It did not matter how many times he looked at the same scenery, through the same window his heart would pound every time.
The sunset reminded him of his childhood, days on the beach and his mothers smile. Sometimes he yearned to revisit those memories, but that was impossible now.
The doctors had come to announce he did not have much time left. So he glanced at his wife, and within a heart beat she rolled his bed over to the only window in the room. She gave him support as he raised himself into the perfect position. The rays of the sun kissed the earth making the most perfect memory for his soul to dwell in for the rest of eternity. His eyes lit up and as it passed so did he.
